WHAPLODE PARISH COUNCIL

MINUTES OF THE WHAPLODE PARISH COUNCIL MEETING HELD AT WHAPLODE DROVE CHURCH MEETING ROOM ON WEDNESDAY 6th APRIL 2022

Present; Cllrs Stafford, Barlow, Stimson, Stancer, Mackman, and Sally & Allan Beal, County Cllr Pepper and the Clerk.

Apologies: 

County Cllr Redgate, Clay, Merchant and Langstaff.

Public Forum: 

No members of the public present.

Minutes and Matters arising:

The minutes of the February meeting had been previously circulated and were signed by the Chairman, as a true record. There were no matters arising.

Finance Report;

The Clerk reported the following cheques for payment which members agreed,

Date of next meeting:

There will be a full council meeting on 8th June at Whaplode St Cathrines and finance meeting on 11th May.

Planning applications,

The Clerk reported that applications had been dealt with as per annexed and circulated to members.

Allotments; 

Cllr Barlow reported that he had chased that Hix & Co were for completion of the last two Farm Business Tenancies. The Clerk will issue paper to the new tenant of garden allotment 1.

The new Whaplode small allotments have been advertised with six responses members agreed to an annual rent of £20, with Whaplode Drove tenants to be given twelve months notice that the same increase will be applied. 

Star of India footpath:

The Clerk reported that he will write to Mr Sampson again re the charging order, this item will remain on the agenda until completed.

Whaplode cemetery report by Clerk: 

Cllr Stafford advised that the donation of bulbs had been planted. The Clerk reported that a section of fence had been damaged and he will email the house holder.

Highway matters:

Whaplode St Cathrines – no issues

Saracens Head – no issues

Whaplode – no new issues, the Chairman will inspect the damaged bus shelter.

Whaplode Drove – The Clerk as completed the purchase of the 30mph signs. Cllr Mackman has supplied reference numbers to the Clerk for outstanding highway reports.

Whaplode Playing Field:

Cllr Merchant emailed a report to confirm that the park was in good order but there had been some vandalism.

Whaplode Drove Community centre lease agreement:

The Clerk reported that he has a copy of the expired lease agreement and will refer to a Solicitor.

Whaplode St Marys church yard:

The treework had been completed as agreed and payment issued, Cllr Barlow will try to obtain a copy of the last tree survey undertaken.

Whaplode Drove bus shelters:

Cllr Mackman reported that the fascias on the shelter in Broadgate will be replaced this week. The destroyed bus shelter in Farrow road had been cleared away, the Clerk will investigate what is available to replace it.

Correpondence:

The Clerk reported various correspondence received about event for the Queens platinum jubilee and members agreed to provide a payment of £500 to each ward to help fund the cost.
